Important Information:
Effective February 1, 2013, any liens released by the Revenue Collector’s office in the Town of Berlin are subject to a waiting period of seven business days if payment is made with a personal check. There can be no exceptions to this rule. If an immediate release is necessary, payments may be made with cash, money order, or bank check.
2011 Grand List Supplemental Motor Vehicle tax bills were mailed from the Revenue Office on Monday, December 17, 2012. The due date is January 1, 2013. The last date to pay without interest is February 1, 2013. You may pay your bill by mail, over the Internet at officialpayments.com, by phone using a toll free number 1-800-272-9829, or in person at the Revenue Office located at Town Hall, 240 Kensington Road, Room 22. These bills are for motor vehicles that were registered after October 1, 2011 but before August 1, 2012. Please call the Revenue Office at 860-828-7023 if you think you should have a bill but did not receive one. Failure to receive a bill does not excuse a taxpayer from the tax or interest liability. The Revenue Office thanks taxpayers for their cooperation.

Due to recent issues regarding the passing of counterfeit bills in the area, the Berlin Revenue Office along with other offices will be diligently checking cash. Any suspect bill will be confiscated by the Berlin Police Department. The Revenue Office staff thanks town residents for their understanding and cooperation.

Services include copies of tax bills, mill rate information, motor vehicle releases, status of tax bill(s), and tax payment processing.
Please Note: In order to obtain a Motor Vehicle release to register a vehicle, all outstanding Motor Vehicle taxes must be paid in full. Only cash or a bank check will be accepted as forms of payment for a Motor Vehicle release.
