A special meeting of the Berlin Historical District Commission was called to order at 5:30 PM on Monday April 9, 2007 in Room 8 of the Berlin Town Hall, Berlin, CT.
PRESENT: Chairman Bruce Dalstrom, Commissioners Lorraine Stub, Susan Skene, Juliann Collazo and W. Brendan Rudge

D. NEW BUSINESS:
The Commission called the special meeting to review a draft of the legal notice written by Lorraine Stub. The notice is to property owners in the historic district regarding a public hearing to be held May 21, 2007. Interested parties will have the opportunity to speak at the hearing regarding the repeal of the Berlin Historic District Ordinance/Commission.
After review of the letter, a motion was made by Chairman Dalstrom, seconded by Commissioner Collazo, to accept the legal notice as written provided the Town Legal Counsel, Kate Wall, Town Clerk, and Hellyn Riggins, Town Planner, also deem it appropriate as written. The motion was passed unanimously.
Chairman Dalstrom distributed a copy of the Memorandum of Decision in the Traverse v. Town of Berlin and it was briefly discussed.
It was agreed that two members of the Commission will meet on May 3, 2007 at the Town Hall to prepare the mailing for the Public Hearing.
The Commission will discuss guidelines and requirements for the Public Hearing at the regular Historic Commission Meeting on May 7, 2007. They will also decide at the meeting if an additional special meeting is needed to further prepare for the hearing.
ADJOURNMENT:
A motion was made by Chairman Dalstrom, seconded by Commissioner Collazo to adjourn the meeting at 6:40. The motion was passed unanimously.
