Planning and Zoning Department

The Planning and Zoning Department is responsible for the administration of the Plan of Conservation and Development and the Town of Berlin Zoning Regulations through land use planning and enforcement of the zoning regulations.

This notice addresses department operations during this time of the COVID19 emergency, social distancing and the related closing of the town offices to the public.

GENERAL INFO, ZONING REGULATIONS, FORMS, COMPLAINTS AND APPLICATIONS: Click Zoning Regulations (below) to access the document. Please explore and utilize the links that can be found on this page and on each commission page. At the bottom right of this page, click “Forms and Applications”; then scroll again to the bottom of the page to choose the applicable item; instructions are included with each packet.  While the office is closed to the public, you can submit information in an email attachment, by mail or by dropping off during Town Hall business hours in a box labeled P&Z Dept. outside of door #3 at Town Hall. Should the submission require a fee that you are unsure of, we can advise you after receipt.

Staff will continue to monitor phones and emails and will return inquiries as soon as possible. If possible email to mgiusti@town.berlin.ct.us or fsemnosk@town.berlin.ct.us When leaving a message please be sure to leave the subject matter and address when applicable so that the message can go to the appropriate person who can respond as completely as possible.  

MEETING INFORMATION: Information will be posted on the meeting link as it becomes available for commissions business. At this time, regular meeting, unless canceled, are being held remotely by conference call. Call-in information will be on the agenda which will be posted on the website on the calendar meeting link a minimum of 24 hours prior to the meeting. In accordance with current executive orders, scans of meeting materials for each agenda item will also be posted. Any materials for the meeting should be sent to mgiusti@town.berlin.ct.us and copied to fsemnosk@town.berlin.ct.us to be posted a minimum of 24 hours prior to the meeting.
