PLEASE NOTE:  Real Estate Taxes are now due on a semi-annual basis. You will not receive a second bill for the second installment due January 1, 2021, only a reminder notice.

 

Mill Rate effective July 1, 2020 = 33.93.


Interest is charged on late payments at the rate of 1.5% per month. 

If you make a payment on your first installment of real estate, personal property, or motor vehicle bill on August 2 or later in August, the bill will incur 3% of interest for two months - July and August. A portion of a month is considered a whole month; interest is not per diem. 

If you make a payment on your second installment of real estate or supplemental motor vehicle bill on February 4 or later in February, the bill will incur 3% of interest for two months - January and February. A portion of a month is considered a whole month; interest is not per diem. 


All Motor Vehicle and personal Property Bills bills from July 2020 and prior are in collections with TaxServ Capital Services.

The Town of Berlin is under contract with TaxServ for the collections of the Town's delinquent MV and PP taxes. If you receive a letter from TaxServ, you must call TaxServ to discuss your account and arrange payment. If you do call the Town of Berlin, you will be directed to contact TaxServ.

Please Note:  In order to obtain a Motor Vehicle release to register a vehicle, all outstanding Motor Vehicle taxes must be paid in full.  Only cash, bank check, or money order will be accepted as forms of payment for a Motor Vehicle release.
