The Town of Berlin, Connecticut

Country Charm at the Center of Connecticut

June is Dog Licensing Month

During the COVID-19 Pandemic the Town Clerk's Office is asking that all licensing be done by mail and we will mail your tag after processing.

All dogs must be licensed annually on or before June 30th.  The license is valid from July 1st through June 30th.  All dogs must have the tag attached to their collar. To apply for the new license in June please check that the rabies vaccine for your dog is valid.  The Town Clerk's Office cannot issue the new license if the rabies vaccine will expire in June.  The rabies MUST be current through July 1, 2020.

Dogs need to be licensed once they are six months old.  Proof of rabies and the documentation from the veterinarian if the dog is spayed or neutered will need to submitted along with the proper fee.

The Town Clerk's Office will mail the renewal notices out May 18th.  Please check that your dog's rabies is current at least through July 1st or schedule an appointment with your veterinarian for an updated rabies shot.  Rabies is considered a health risk so it important that the vaccination is current. (Exception - those possessing a rabies vaccination exemption certificate issued by the State Veterinarian or Commissioner of Agriculture of the Commissioner's designee.  Such certificate is valid for one year.  A letter of exception from your local veterinarian will not be accepted.)

Licensing Fees remain the same:  $8.00 for a spayed or neutered dog / $19.00 for an dog not spayed or neutered.  Check or money order should be made payable to the "Berlin Town Clerk's Office".

Please mail the documentation and check/money order along with a self-addressed stamped envelope.
